“As long as I’m in great shape, nobody beats me, for sure.”
That’s what Olympic gold medalists and world champions sprinter Usain Bolt told a newspaper back in 2013 about how he trains. A big part of that training is regular chiropractic care.
Dr. Michael Douglas of South Florida, who has been the Jamaican Olympic team’s chiropractor since 1996, and has helped Bolt get to the level he is at today.

Bolt suffered from scoliosis as a child and during the early part of his career. Not understanding the disease, he continued on with training and competing and the complications worsened as he got older.
“When I was younger, the scoliosis wasn’t really a problem. But you grow and it gets worse. My spine was really curved bad,” Bolt told Patch.com. “The early part of my career, when we didn’t really know much about it, it really hampered me because I got injured every year.”
As the injuries piled up, Bolt turned to chiropractic care rather than enduring a brace or potentially dangerous surgery. Through the care of Dr. Michael Douglas, Botl was able to correct his scoliosis and prevent future injuries. He continues to rely heavily on treatments not only to prevent future injuries, but to ensure that his body performs at peak levels.
